MainStay

MainStay was created to provide improved access to short-term Housing Related Support services for single persons (and couples in some circumstances).


New Start's Liverpool based services requiring a MainStay assessment for referral are outlined below.

Dispersed Service

  • Statutory Homeless People, Rough Sleepers and those who are immediately 'roofless' who are able to manage with low level visiting support in a Dispersed Accommodation Environment.
  • Those who require second stage accommodation as a transitional step between 24-hour temporary accommodation provision and fully independent housing
  • Length of stay in Dispersed Provision is anticipated to be up to 6 months. For those requiring a slightly longer period of support, the service can be flexible to work with individual circumstances.

Prospect Lodge

  • Age 18 - 65 years
  • Single People
  • No immediate access to settled accommodation/'roofless'
  • Individuals requiring 24-hour support due to their needs/vulnerabilities
  • Length of stay is anticipated to be up to 6 months


Belmont Drive

  • Aged 18+
  • Single People; and/or couples (where accommodation is appropriate)
  • All homeless prevention options have been explored and exhausted
  • No immediate access to settled accommodation/'roofless'


Have been assessed as having needs or exhibiting High Risk in 2 of the following areas:


  • Mental Health
  • Rough Sleeping/Homelessness
  • Substance Misuse
  • May also have No, Low or Medium risks around offending (not high)

Mainstay

To make a referral via MainStay, an assessment must be completed at one of the many assessment points across the city where trained staff will be available to assist you.

New Start's Head Office is an assessment point on a Tuesday & Wednesday and is located at 179 Townsend Lane, Clubmoor, Liverpool, L13 9DY.
