New Start is a family run not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Waking Night Support Practitioner within New Start’s Adult Services division, with the successful candidate being able to provide practical and emotional support to residents at our Newsham Drive service, and to provide on-call support to other services as required.
Part-time, 22 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, 8pm to 8am.
£30 essential car user allowance (pro-rata) plus £0.40p per mile
The successful candidate will also complete health and safety checks and deal with incidents if they should occur during the night. The Waking Night Support Practitioner will be responsible for overseeing the safety of residents and other staff members, and for the security of the building. They will have a duty to abide by Health and Safety regulations and support other workers and will be expected to act as named first aider and fire marshall. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake administrative tasks as requested by support workers, senior support workers or management.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar post, supporting outreach services or within a hostel setting. They will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care or be working towards this qualification, and will be able to accurately record information within case notes and support plans, ideally with experience of Mainstay.
