New Start have an exciting position as a Mental Health Support Practitioner to join our Adults Services team based in Liverpool. Joining us on a full time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £19,500 per annum, plus £50 per sleep. You will play a key role in supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting positive outcomes in their lives.
8am – 8am (with sleep)
3 day rolling rota
New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people.
Responsibilities as our Mental Health Support Practitioner:
Mental Health Support Practitioners provide practical and emotional support to residents accessing the service as determined by their individual needs identified through assessment and support planning. They provide housing related support for vulnerable people in order to enable them to work towards fully independent living.
The successful candidate will implement and /or facilitate activities to develop individual support pathways that address specific needs including educational, social, emotional, physical health, and positive mental well-being. They will support residents in increasing their engagement, including access and attendance to appointments. The successful candidate will also deal appropriately with any occurring incidents, recording and reporting to the manager as appropriate. They will ensure that referrals to the service are managed efficiently and within specific timescales, through team-work and liaising, to ensure maximum occupancy levels are maintained. They will oversee the safety and security of the building, residents, and visitors at the service.
What we’re looking for in our Mental Health Support Practitioner:
Previous experience supporting clients with mental health issues
Excellent communication skills; a calm and confident manner
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through crisis or periods of change
Experience of assessing the needs of vulnerable adults specifically with those who are at risk of homelessness
Experience of case work and support planning, risk assessments and key work
Driver with your own vehicle and business insurance
