New Start is a family run not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within New Start’s Children’s Services for a Deputy Manager to work alongside the Registered Manager to deliver the services of a 4-bed children’s home. The home provides care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties who have been or are affected by Child Sexual Abuse, Child Sexual Exploitation, Criminal Exploitation, and other emotional and behavioural problems.


As Deputy Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in the supervision and mentoring of staff, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care focused training, and accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home. 


In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will hold responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for the children and young people who reside within the home.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in providing care in a Registered Children’s Home and will hold a Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People. In addition, the successful candidate may hold a Diploma level 5 in Leadership and Management (or be willing to work towards this).  The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to their own vehicle and have, or be willing to obtain, business insurance.


An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure will be required for this post.
