New Start's Community Housing Scheme focuses on overcoming the many barriers and difficulties faced by vulnerable adults and families trying to access quality housing within the Private Landlord Sector. In developing this service New Start have successfully gained the trust and respect of many nationally and locally based Landlords and Property Agents.

A portfolio of more than 70 quality homes has been built-up within this service, in which housing for the socially excluded (who otherwise would be living within temporary and unstable housing environments) are now making homes for themselves and working towards securing their housing as private tenants with the help and support of New Start's staff.

Within this scheme New Start focus on contributing towards building 'sustainable' and 'cohesive' communities by assisting tenants to develop stability and productive living for themselves and their families. This service is unique to New Start and was developed to address social exclusion in Liverpool by focusing upon housing need by developing good working relations with the Private Rented Sector to utilise accommodation which was previously 'out of reach' to socially excluded groups.
